Where the hells have I been? Sorry, I was working full time and just had no access to the blog.
This is going to be my hot-ass Summer breaky of champions. While I’ll never actually have a hot butt, it’s more that sometimes food can be sexy tasting when you wake up hungry and breaky is already there is the fridge. Straight up and into the belly!
The trick with these oats is that you make them lazy. How lazy? You get the food to digest itself like magic. In the way the bircher muesli works, it’s a combination of yoghurt and an acidic fruity liquid that mixes with these oaty oats. Works fine with rolled or steel cut oats. I’m not sure about instant, because there’s not as much of them to break down, so stick with the other types.
To make these, try a variety of acidic juices – papaya, pineapple, apple, citrus…
This one below, uses pineapple juice. It’s topped with blended frozen mango and the innards of a passionfruit.
This one uses orange juice, with double the pulp, and topped with apple and chia.
- 2 cups rolled oats
- ½ - 1 cup milk (coconut is nice!)
- ½ cup coconut yoghurt
- ½ cup juice (whole!)
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optioinal)
- Fruit - to serve
- In a glass container, stir together all of the ingredients.
- Seal and store in the fridge overnight.
- The next day, divide into bowls and top with your fruits.
