Did you know that the opposite side of the world from Australia is…..the North Atlantic ocean? So that’s what I’ve chosen to make – fish! Not really, I chose USA because it was nearby and I had no idea what else to do. That said, I’ve never been a particular fan of American food, based on what can be seen on TV. It seems like lots of yellow and deep fried gunk, which I’ve never been a fan of. Even the vegan recipe books I’ve seen from there are often a bit bland in the ingredients list. But I probably grew up exposed to a massive variety of cuisines, thanks to Australia’s multicultural living. Luckily, the online blogging world has opened up some more options for bloggers seeking inspiration, and I found the blog fitmittenkitchen which I think is American. And this American is the author of the wraps recipe you see pictured.
This recipe involves a lettuce cup as a wrap. The filling in a mushroom and tempeh mix, with a satay-like sauce, topped with spring onions and carrots. My carrot sticks were a bit heavy handed and chunky, but hey! I’m just lazy.
If you want to make them yourself – and I totally recommend that you DO – then check the recipe here!
