One of the most commonly asked (and dreaded) question us vegans are asked relates to protein. When did we become so obsessed?
And why do people only start caring about your protein once you declare vegan-hood?
Well, if you want to be as strong as an Ox or a Bull, then perhaps try eating like one! The average person requires 45-55g of protein a day. And while the world appears (a) obsessed with protein (b) under the misapprehension that protein can only come from meat, many people in countries such as America are actually having too much protein!
But did you know that 2 TB hemp seed contains 11 g of protein?
Here’s a handy list of vegan protein sources (it all adds up over the day!)
Try to vary your protein sources, and expand your comfort zone. I used to hate tofu and tempeh, but now I even use tofu in desserts (this isn’t even a lie).
